Vada pav is a vegetarian fast food dish native to the state of Maharashtra.The dish consist of a deep fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun sliced almost in half through the middle.it is accompanied with two green and red chutney. It was originated as cheap street food in Mumbai,but now served in food stalls and restaurants across the India.so without wasting any time let’s head to the kitchen and prepare this lip smacking Mumbai style vada pav.

Heat a pan,add oil,mustard seeds,asafoetida,curry leaves,ginger garlic green chilli (chrushed in grinder make thecha / khucla.) turmeric powder,potato and mix well.now add salt and coriander leaves in the mixture,mix well and keep aside.

Now for batter in a mixing bowl add gram flour,turmeric powder,red chilli powder and salt to taste and make thick consistency batter with required water.

Now make medium size balls of potato mixture and dip in Besan batter and fry them till golden brown.

For green chutney add all the ingredients in grinder and grind them,chutney is ready.

For dry red chutney roast all the ingredients one by one,grind them and then add salt and Kashmiri red chilli powder,chutney is ready. (or can see my vada pav chutney recipe

Now assemble the vada pav by sliced the pav in half apply green chutney inside the pav in both portions then add dry red chutney and place potato dumpling inside the pav,our Mumbai style vada pav is ready to serve,garnish with fry chilli and enjoy.
