A Refreshing Tiramisu Drink

I tried adding some leftover Mitsuya Cider soda to my everyday coffee, but it didn't work. The sourness that characterizes lemony soda like this became an annoying odor. So I wondering if I could do something to fix it and tried adding some lemon juice. That annoying odor totally disappeared, and it tasted like tiramisu!

Since this is lemon soda based, I thought it was best to keep this as a refreshing drink, so I wrote down "to taste" for the amount of skim milk powder to add. However, if you add a generous amount it will be milkier and thicker, and definitely taste better! If you mix up the powdery ingredients first and then add the milk, they will dissolve better. You can use coffee creamer powder instead of skim milk powder too. Recipe by ayureo

Steps

  1. 1

Mix the instant coffee powder and skim milk powder together. Dissolve them both in milk. Pour in the Mitsuya Cider soda. Mix in the sugar and lemon juice and it's done!

  2. 2

It's best to mix in the sugar at the end instead of at the beginning for a more tiramisu-like flavor. The key is to add more than 1 tablespoon.

  3. 3

I thought it tasted like tiramisu even without the cocoa powder, but add to taste. If you use the sweetened type, mix it in at the end before drinking.

  4. 4

I tried making it with zero-calorie Mitsuya Cider soda. Since the calories are reduced a lot by using a diet soda, I thought it tasted best with lots of skim milk powder and sweetened cocoa powder to add richness.

  5. 5

By varying the amounts just a bit, the flavor really changes to something very different. I think it tastes best with a generous amount of sugar, and with sweetened cocoa powder on top.
