Mickey Mouse Egg
Equipment
- 1 cm diameter cut out for ears
- 2 cm diameter cut out for face
- 1/4 teaspoon or something small so that you can scoop tiny portions of egg whites or yolks out
- 4oz ramekin or anything to hold the egg shell in when steaming
- steamer
Steps
- 1
Bisect egg vertically. Mark with marker.
- 2
Break shell so that its big enough to remove the egg inside without breaking the yolk
- 3
Remove the egg and separate the yolk and white
- 4
Cut a wider opening in the shell near the marked line and pour the egg white back in slowly
- 5
Line a towel under the lid of your steamer so that the moisture doesn't get into the egg white. Steam the egg for 13 mins.
- 6
Use your cutter and cut out the mickey face.
- 7
Beat up the yolk and use a 1/4 teaspoon to put some yolk into the hole. Need to be really careful since it's so small. If there are bubbles, pop them with a toothpick.
- 8
Wrap the ramekin with some plastic wrap and re-steam the egg for another 3 mins.
