Cooking Instructions
- 1
Grease line a pan with parchment paper and make sure the paper comes up over the sides. In a large stainless steel pot place the water, sugar and golden syrup and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir the mixture for a second or two and then leave it to boil until the mixture reaches 284°F (140°C).
- 2
Then stir in the honey and vanilla extract. Insert a candy thermometer and continue to heat it, without stirring until the mixture reaches 300° F (150° C). When it reaches that temperature, remove it from the heat and immediately add the baking soda. Quickly whisk the mixture vigorously to make sure the baking soda disappears since the candy gets hard quickly.
- 3
The honeycomb will begin to expand and harden quickly. Therefore immediately pour the hot candy mixture into the prepared pan. Let the honeycomb cool completely for 2 hours before breaking it into pieces.
- 4
Store the honeycomb brittle in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Enjoy! 😉

Cute Candy Cookies Cute Candy Cookies
I saw a cookie with a candy window on a TV show awhile ago. I thought if it could be made with a black cocoa cookie, it'd make for a nice contrast and be really cute, so I gave it a shot. When I put the candy in before baking the cookie dough would become smashed or stick to the candy and it was quite difficult. So I changed the procedure to add the candy during the middle of baking.Try to fill in the gaps with smashed candy bits as much as possible. The baking may differ depending on your household oven, so adjust the temperature and baking time as necessary. If the temperature is too hot, the candy may burn. It might be a good idea to have candy bits left over when baking so you can fill in any gaps. For the candy, I use orange and pineapple flavored Sakuma drops. Recipe by yotiko cookpad.japan -
