15-Minute Steamed Banana Cake With Pancake Mix (For Mother's Day)

This is a short cut for creating cake that I came up with myself. It takes hardly any time at all on a gas hob and the spoon and cake tin is all that you will have to wash at the end! You don't have to buy too many things either, you just need ingredients that can be found in your cupboard and a banana. This is a great-tasting recipe that I made so easy that even an elementary school kid could make it, or people pressed for time could make quickly.
While steaming the cake, make sure that the water continues to simmer gently. To test if the cake is cooked, stick in a chopstick and if no raw batter comes out, it's ready. Both vegetable oil and butter work well in this recipe. You can also try making it into a chocolate cake. Recipe by HaradaKiTN

Steps
- 1
Add all of the ingredients except for the banana and honey to a cake tin and mix them together.
- 2
Cut the banana into circular slices with a spoon and arrange the slices on top of the batter. Then swirl the honey over the top.
- 3
Place the cake tin into a frying pan and fill the frying pan with water until it reaches 1/3 of the way up the cake tin. Then place the lid over the frying pan and steam-bake the cake.
- 4
Be careful to maintain the water level and steam the cake for 12 minutes without removing the lid.
- 5
When the cake has cooled, flip it onto a plate. Serve it either hot or cold.
- 6
You can also try serving this cake with whipped cream.
