Jumbo Fruit Pie

It started with a friend who wanted to surprise their mom for her birthday. They requested a jumbo fruit pie as a replacement for a birthday cake. And now, thankfully, many people order jumbo fruit pies for birthdays when they're tired of or don't want a traditional cake. It can also be a great gift! 😍😍

Steps
- 1
For the pie crust, mix the powdered sugar and margarine with a mixer until just combined. Add the egg yolk and mix again until smooth, about 2 minutes. Turn off the mixer. Add the sifted flour and powdered milk. Add the ice water. Stir with a spatula or rice paddle until well combined.
- 2
Grease a pan with margarine. Shape the pie crust dough into a ball and roll it out to fit the pan, then place it in the pan. Alternatively, you can press the dough directly into the pan without rolling it out first. Once the dough is neatly pressed into the pan, prick the surface of the pie crust with a fork. Bake in a moderate oven until cooked. Since I use a traditional oven, I don't know the exact temperature used. Once cooked, remove from the pan and let cool.
- 3
Once cool, make the custard. Pour a little UHT milk into a glass, mix with cornstarch, and stir until smooth. Add the egg yolks and stir again until smooth. Set aside. Put the remaining UHT milk, granulated sugar, vanilla, and margarine into a pot. Cook while stirring continuously until it boils, then reduce the heat. Add the cornstarch mixture. Stir again until the custard thickens and bubbles. Turn off the heat. Let the steam dissipate. Pour the custard over the pie crust. Let it cool slightly.
- 4
Peel and clean all the fruit, and slice as desired. Arrange on top of the custard.
- 5
Make the agar layer. Mix all the ingredients and cook on the stove until boiling, then turn off the stove. Let the steam dissipate. Slowly pour over the arranged fruit.
