10-Minute Batter! Rich Gateau au Chocolat

I wanted to make an easy chocolate cake in which you can really taste chocolate. I made a recipe that doesn't require sifting the pancake mix, making meringue, or worrying about mixing too much! This is an excellent cake because it's easy to make but looks intricate!
This cake is soft when baked, and it's very difficult to remove from the mold. It's still a bit hard to remove even when cooled, so I recommend you use a mold lined with parchment paper or with a removable bottom. If you use a paper mold, place the mold on a rack when baking, so it won't get too moist and damp. If you use a mold with a removable bottom, wrap the bottom of the mold with aluminium foil so the hot water won't leak in! Recipe by koyu mama n

Cooking Instructions
- 1
I used a bit less than 3 bars of dark chocolate. I recommend using milk chocolate when making this for kids!
- 2
Microwave the chocolate and the butter together for 2 to 3 minutes until melted. (Stir occasionally so as not to let the chocolate burn.)
- 3
Beat the egg in another bowl, add the heavy cream, and mix. (If the mixture is cool, warm it up a little by microwave or over a bain-marie, so it will be easier to mix after Step 5.)
- 4
Add the combined melted chocolate and butter to the mixture and mix well.
- 5
Preheat the oven to 180℃.
- 6
Add the pancake mix all at once and mix. The batter is done!
- 7
Pour the batter into the mold. Fill a baking tray with hot water and place the mold insde. Steam-bake at 180°C for 25 to 30 minutes, and it's done!
- 8
The cake is nice and puffy when baked! Remove it from the mold once completely cooled.
- 9
For taste-testing, I recommend that you bake one cup cake of the batter alongside the gateau au chocolat. You can make a fondant chocolate cake if you add some leftover chocolate blocks in the cup as well!
- 10
This cake goes well with a warm drink!

I got a lot of egg whites for making macarons. I had too many whites and spent many days trying to use them up. I made a gateau au chocolat that used a lot of egg whites, and managed to make a delicious cake using them.* If you add sugar to the meringue, it will become stiff, and when mixing it with melted chocolate, lumps will remain and the meringue will not become fluffy. This is not good, so make the meringue without sugar.* When warming the ■ ingredients in the microwave at the beginning, heat very lightly and then mix to melt. Please do not heat the ingredients repeatedly. Recipe by +pocopoco+ cookpad.japan -
Cream-free Moist & Rich Gateau au Chocolat Cream-free Moist & Rich Gateau au Chocolat
This is my first plain gateau chocolat after several trials. I tried with milk chocolate or reduced the amount of sugar...This is quite similar to my green tea gateau chocolat. I like these recipes.Milk chocolate is too sweet for this recipe so use dark chocolate. If you double the quantities you can make a 18-cm round cake but remember it will take about 60 minutes to bake.If you whip the meringue too stiff the resultant cake might rise too much.I recommend you chill overnight and serve the following day! For a 12 cm [4.7 in] round cake tin (for an 18-cm cake, double the quantities). Recipe by Hamumaki cookpad.japan -

It only takes 4 ingredients! You can use your hands to break up the bar chocolate from within the foil, so you don't need a knife. If you follow all the steps in a hot water bath, it will turn out great. When mixing, be careful not to let it bubble and it will be rich.Bake until the inside is nice and soft and a little under-baked. Recipe by nokko_n cookpad.japan -
Rich Gateau au Chocolat Rich Gateau au Chocolat
I really like rich gateau au chocolat, so I modified the recipe my way.The texture will not turn out right if you over-bake it, so I recommend stopping when a creamy batter comes out when checking with a skewer. If the temperature of the batter goes down, the chocolate will cause the batter to harden, so keep the eggs at room temperature. It is best eaten the next day onward. For 15 cm [5.9 in] round mold. I was asked to prepare a recipe for cakes to give away for Valentine's Day.It's slightly small so that a couple could finish the whole thing together.I used 2 chocolate bars that weighed 60 g each. When chopping up the chocolate, do so on top of the sheet that the chocolate came with. It takes no effort if you flip the chocolate over and chop it up diagonally. If it's to be served the following day, keep it in a plastic bag to make it even more moist. It also might be easier to use a cake pan with a removable bottom. Recipe by jun jun cookpad.japan -

15-Minute Chocolate Cake 15-Minute Chocolate Cake
When I was in the middle of exams so had no spare time. Even so, I really wanted to make a cake so I tried to think of something quick that I could just mix together and put in the microwave. It came out unexpectedly delicious! I measured the ingredients with spoons for even less washing up too.You can use a heat resistant bowl instead of a cake tin, just be careful about the size, as the cake will expand in the oven.I've heard that this cake can come out a bit hard. I think it's probably down to the type of microwave and the size of the tin that's being used so try microwaving the cake for a shorter amount of time (maybe 6 minutes, then take it out to see how far along it is). If you can pierce the cake with a skewer and it comes out clean, the cake is cooked. Recipe by Mnonijo cookpad.japan -
