Buttered Bread Bars
So fresh and yummy
Steps
- 1
Keep aside 1/3 of your butter, so we are just going to use 2/3 for now. Mix all ingredients in a bowl to form a crumble mixture, then add water and make an elastic dough, if it's too though... you can add water in bits till it's a bit light.. i.e not too tough nor light but medium texture, mix until no dough sticks to your hands. I love using hand rather than mixer🤗
- 2
Cover with a kitchen towel and keep in a warm place and allow to rise for 1 hour
- 3
Then after an hour fold in your remaining 1/3 butter and knead till well incoperated and sticky.... then cover again for 30 min let it rise again
- 4
Then cut into small portions, flour your working surface and with a pin, roll your dough as below,if it's too wide you can fold the edges as below and roll
- 5
Then fold into bars, seal the edges by pressing firm..
- 6
Lay the parchment paper on baking tray and line your bars
- 7
Preheat oven for couple of minutes and bake for 20 min... Medium high for 15 min then medium low for 5 min. To check weather your bread is done, take one and hit the back with your thumb... If it gives a drum like sound... You are good to go...
