Tarako (Salted Cod Roe) Pasta Cooked in Just One Frying Pan

This is Recipe #2 in my Frying Pan Pasta series.
I worry about how salty tarako pasta is, but it's so delicious that sometimes I really want to eat some.
I made this without butter or heavy cream to make it a little healthier.

The pasta will be al dente by the end of Step 2, so the final result will be pretty soft.
If you like firmer pasta, reduce the amount of time you let the pasta sit during Step 2. Recipe by Nekozame

Ingredients

1 serving
  • 100 gramsSpaghetti
  • 400 ml●Water
  • 1/2 tbsp●Olive oil
  • 1 pinch●Salt
  • 1/2 piece☆ Raw tarako
  • 50 ml☆ Greek yogurt (or unsweetened yogurt)
  • 1 dash☆Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp☆Dashi stock granules
  • 1Shredded nori seaweed

Steps

  1. 1

    Add the ● ingredients to the frying pan and bring to a boil. Break the spaghetti in half and add to the pan. Cook for 1 minute over medium heat, stirring to prevent sticking.

    Turn off the heat and cover with a lid. Let the spaghetti sit for 1 minute less than the cooking time listed on the package.

    Remove the lid and stir. Then heat over high to reduce the liquid. (This takes about 3 minutes for 1.6 mm spaghetti)

    Turn off the heat and add the ☆ ingredients to the pasta. Remove the membrame of the tarako and break it up as you stir it into the pasta.

  5. 5

    You can add mayonnaise, soy sauce, shiso leaves or anything else you like. Transfer the pasta to a dish and top with shredded nori seaweed. Done!
