Raw Banana and Potato Patty Veg Burger

#mychildhoodrecipe #aloo #potato #rawbanana #banana #cookpadindia
When I was in my teens in school and learning to cook from my mom and grandma, I used to make lots of Banana kofta, Jackfruit kofta and Bottlegourd kofta under the guidance of my granny, whenever we had Veg days and mutton kofta on non veg days.
I loved all the dishes cooked by my grandma, how meticulously and patiently she used to prepare the ingredients and cook, I wonder even now. When as a kid I used to watch her cooking , I used to think,. "How will I remember the spices and it's names and the ingredients when I grow up ....there are so many variety ?"
Sometimes we used to have it fried only with rice and Dal etc. and sometimes in delicious gravy with Roti/ Paratha.
So inspired by my good old childhood days, I prepared Raw Banana ( with Potato which gives binding ) patty for Veg Burger and enjoyed it thoroughly as much as we enjoy our Homemade Chicken and Mutton Burger.
For the first time I was doing different with the Electric Grill Toaster apart from grilling my sandwiches in it. While preparing the mix I thought what is the good way to cook it with very less oil, so this idea popped up.

Steps
- 1
Cut and Boil the bananas and potato with little salt in a covered vessel. It may take up to 1 hour. Then let it cool and come to room temperature.
- 2
Peel and Grate the potato and Banana for a smooth texture. Add all the ingredients into it along with salt as per taste. After mixing it check salt and if it's more moist and falling apart when shaping it into patty, add more breadcrumbs as needed till it can hold it's shape.
(Don't throw away the banana peel make chutney out of it) - 3
Now divide the Banana potato mixture into 5 parts and shape it into burger patty. You can adjust the size depending on the size of the bun used. Apply butter on the buns and warm it in the oven or on a pan. Put on the Electric Grill Toaster (Sandwich maker) and apply oil on both sides of it with a brush or kitchen tissue. Place the patty on it and close it and grill for 5-6 minutes till you get the desired crispiness and color (turns golden brown).
- 4
Place it on the buns, place sliced onion and tomato on it, place a cheese slice and a lettuce on it and place the top of the bun on it and secure with a toothpick. You can use mayo or sauce as per your taste. For me I didn't need anything.
