Ingredients

  1. 1 cupmushroom, diced and sliced.
  2. 3/4 cup green peas boiled
  3. 3medium sized tomatoes, boiled
  4. 1 tbspcoriander seeds
  5. 1 tspcumin seeds
  6. 3-4 pcspeppercorns
  7. 2-3 pcscloves
  8. 2whole red chillies
  9. 2bay leaves
  10. 11/2 tbspsmilk powder
  11. 2 tbspghee/ clarified butter
  12. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  13. 1 tsplime juice/ fresh lemon juice
  14. 1 1/2 tsp cream
  15. 1 tspkasuri methi (optional)

Steps

    In a pan/kadai,put the coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns and cloves on a medium flame. Roast till light brown.

  2. 2

    Transfer in the small jar of the mixer grinder and grind to a powder. Keep covered aside.

  3. 3

    Peel the skin of the boiled tomatoes and transfer into the medium jar of the mixer grinder. Add the milk powder and make a pulp of the mix.

  4. 4

    Now heat the pan/kadai with
    ghee /clarified butter. Keep the flame on sim. Add the whole red chillies and bay leaves. Sauté once.

  5. 5

    Add the prepared grounded masala and sauté. Immediately add the pulp of the boiled tomatoes and mix.

  6. 6

    Add salt, red chilli powder and on high flame cook the gravy for about 4 - 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.

  7. 7

    The gravy will thicken. Add the boiled mushrooms and green peas and mix well. On medium flame cook for approximately 5 - 7 minutes.

  8. 8

    Add kasuri methi / dry fenugreek leaves if you have opt for. Simultaneously, add the cream and mix well.

  9. 9

    Mushroom Matar curry is ready to serve with butter naans or tandoori rotis.

Thanks for your recipe. I would like to know should the mushrooms be preferably pre-boiled separately or alongwith the peas? Thanks in advance!
