Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  1. 8 slicesbread
  2. 1/2 cupghee
  3. 1/2 cup oil
  4. 1/2 cupsugar
  5. 1/2 cupwater
  6. 2-3 tablespoonssweetened condensed milk (gives a creamy texture to the syrup)
  7. 2-3cardamoms pods (or powder)
  8. Pinchorange red food color
  9. 1/4 cupmilk
  10. 1/2 teaspoonstrands of saffron
  11. 2 tablespoonschopped pistachios & almonds for garnishing
  12. as requiredMawa is optional for serving

Steps

    Firstly spread slices of bread or use stale bread will be much easier slice them in two pieces set aside.roughly chop nuts for garnishing.further prepare a sugar syrup once the sugar melts add milk then add cardamoms and saffron let it boil now add food color & sweetened condensed milk mix well and switch off the flame burner by the time it’s warm.will fry slices of bread until golden.

    In an open cookware once the bread is fried immediately dip it in sugar syrup for few seconds remove it and set in a dish gradually prepare all in similar fashion.finally if the syrup is leftover drizzle over the slices garnish with chopped nuts & saffron.
