Ingredients

25 minutes
Depends on what size you cut the bars into.
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray a jelly roll pan 15” x 10” x 1” with baking spray
  2. 1 cupbutter softened or margarine
  3. 2 1/2 cupsall-purpose flour
  4. 2 cupspacked brown sugar
  5. 2eggs
  6. 4 teaspoonsvanilla
  7. 1 teaspoonbaking soda
  8. 3 cupsquick cooking rolled oats
  9. 1 1/2 cupssemisweet chocolate chips
  10. 1 (14 ounce)can sweetened condensed milk
  11. 2 tablespoonsbutter or margarine
  12. 1/2 cupchopped walnuts

Cooking Instructions

    In a large mixing bowl beat 1 cup butter on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add half the flour, all the brown sugar, eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla and baking soda. Beat on low speed until throughly combined. Beat in remaining flour. Stir in oats.

    In a medium saucepan cook chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and 2 tablespoons butter over low heat until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining vanilla and nuts.

    Pat 2/3 of the oat mixture into bottom of baking pan. Spread chocolate mixture over oat mixture. Dot with remaining oat mixture. Bake 25 minutes or until top is light golden. (chocolate mixture will still look moist.) Cool on wire rack and cut into bars.
