Only Two Ingredients! Sukiyaki-style Chopped Beef and Onions

I wanted to make an easy and delicious dish using inexpensive imported beef.
In order for the flavors to penetrate the ingredients properly, add the sweet things first. The sweet flavor is the key to making this go so well with plain rice. Recipe by Oishiimono hunter

Steps
- 1
Cut the onion in half lengthwise and slice (as you would onions for a beef bowl).
- 2
Heat some oil in a frying pan, add the beef straight out of the pack plus the sliced onion from Step 1. Stir fry until the meat changes color.
- 3
When the meat has changed color, add the sugar → mirin → soy sauce in that order. Mix until the flavors are evenly distributed (with the heat on).
- 4
Simmer until everything is cooked through and the sauce has reduced to your liking.
