Phyllo Meat Pie (Egyptian Goulash with Ground Beef)

Cook the ground beef with a chopped onion and spices.

Brush a medium baking dish with clarified butter or ghee.

Lay two sheets of phyllo dough in the dish and brush the top with butter. Add two more sheets, brush with butter, and repeat until you use half the phyllo.

Spread the cooked ground beef over the phyllo, then layer the remaining phyllo sheets on top, brushing butter between every two sheets. Cut the pie into portions and bake in the oven.

When the top starts to turn golden, mix the milk and egg with a pinch of salt and black pepper, then pour over the pie. Return to the oven to finish baking. Once done, you can cover it to soften or leave it uncovered for a crispier texture, as you prefer. Enjoy!
