Ingredients

30-35 minutes
4-6 people
  1. 1 kglauki (should be fresh and grated)
  2. 1/2 litremilk (full cream)
  3. 1/4 cupsugar
  4. 100 gramkhoya
  5. 1 tspcardamom powder
  6. 1 tablespoondesi ghee
  7. as requiredOil (for greasing the tray)
  8. as requiredMix nuts for decoration
  9. 8-10kesar threads for decoration
  10. 1/2 cupmix nuts
  11. As needed-Green colour (a pinch) optional

Steps

30-35 minutes
  1. 1

    Boil milk in a heavy bottom pan. Then add lauki and keep it boiling in medium flame for 7-8 minutes or until lauki becomes tender.

  2. 2

    After some time it becomes little thick then add remaining ingredients one by one.

  3. 3

    When we add sugar consistency becomes little runny. Keep stirring it for another 5-6 minutes or until it becomes solid.

  4. 4

    Grease the tray and transfer this mixture into it and tap it. Decorate with nuts and kesar threads.

  5. 5

    Once this becomes cool then refrigerate it for 2-3 hours. Then take out and cut into desired shape. Lauki Burfis are ready. You can store them in a container but because of milk and khoya its shelf life is only for 3-4 days.

  6. 6

    You can have this Burfi in vrat and festivals also. These are homemade and super duper tasty.
