For Bentos: Easy and Flavorful Spaghetti Napolitan

My son likes spaghetti with meat sauce and also Napolitan and wanted me to include it in his bento, so I make him a flavorful Napolitan spaghetti bento that tastes great even when cold (。^_・)ノ.

I learned this secret trick about spaghetti from a TV show, but you add the spaghetti to the boiling water and stir for 1 minute. You will boil it again, so after one minute passes turn off the heat and cover it with a lid. After boiling the spaghetti as directed on the package minus one minute, strain. If you want to cook it al dente, adjust the cooking time by subtracting 2 minutes♪. Using vegetable oil and not olive oil is also an important point ヽ(*^^*)ノ. Recipe by Kyoku

Ingredients

  • 200 gramsSpaghetti
  • 1/4Onion
  • 7Wiener sausages
  • 1Green bell pepper (large)
  • 1 dashless than a tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 2 tbspTomato ketchup
  • 1 dashless than a tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 2 tspJapanese Worcestershire-style sauce

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil spaghetti in saltwater, and quickly strain after about a minute. While waiting, add vegetable oil to a frying pan, and fry the thinly sliced onions.

  2. 2

    Cut the sausages diagonally, and fry. Cut the green peppers into large chunks, and add to the frying pan after the sausages have been well-cooked. Once the green peppers are about cooked, add ketchup, mayonnaise, and Japanese Worcestershire sauce for flavoring.

  3. 3

    After boiling the spaghetti, immediately drain the hot water and add to the frying pan and toss.

  4. 4

    Add lots of Parmesan cheese to finish!
