Chocolate Doughnut (Donuts)

Doughnut or Donut is a type of leavened fried dough. It is popular in many countries and is prepared in various forms as a sweet snack that can be homemade or purchased in bakeries, supermarkets, food stalls.
Doughnuts may also include water, leavening, eggs (option), milk, sugar, oil, shortening, and natural or artificial flavors.
Once fried, doughnuts may be glazed with a sugar icing or chocolate, or topped with powdered sugar, cinnamon, sprinkles or fruit.

In a small bowl, add sugar and yeast to warm milk. Mix a little. Cover and set aside to activate for 15 minutes.

In a large mixing bowl, add flour, baking powder, salt and mix well. Now add yeast mixture and mix well. Add water as required and knead dough for 10-15 mins to make a smooth dough.

Next add butter and knead once again.
Lastly, grease with oil, cover and keep in warm place for 1-2 hrs. - 4
After 2 hrs dough will rise. Punch dough and knead for 1-2 mins. Take a dough ball on rolling surface. Sprinkle some maida flour on it and with the help of rolling pin, roll the dough ball slightly thick.

With the help of donut cutter, cut round. Cover all donuts with a kitchen towel. Keep in a warm place for about 20-30 mins. Doughnuts will slightly puffed up.

While deep fry, carefully add the doughnuts into medium hot oil, a few at a time.

When the bottoms side of donuts become golden brown. Flip it, using slotted spoon. Similarly, fry all donuts till they’re golden brown all over. Doughnut holes cook faster.

Melt the dark chocolate compound in a double boiler. Dip the donuts in the melted chocolate and then sprinkle with sugar powder, sprinkles or cocoa powder.
