Hamentashen Hamentashen
My Hadassah chapter in Pittsburgh used to get together and make these before Purim. We'd sell them to make our donor. They're so good, that we provided them to the Pittsburgh Jewish Home for the Aged. If you either cut the two flat sides of grocery bags, or line your cookie trays with parchment paper for each batch, you can just lift off hamentaschen, lay on another cut out paper bag, and not wait for them to cool.A double batch of dough should make approximately 5 dozen if you use a margarine cov as a cut. I usually use a what're glass, and they come out smaller. They also make good cookies with cinnamon sugar sprinkled over them.Option al: Paint them with beaten eg before baking to make them shiny Shirley Lipkin -

Manakish Manakish
#nonindian - Manakish is a very popular Arabic bread made of plain flour and is topped with Zaatar (Middle Eastern Spice) and cheese. It is generally had as breakfast with olives, cucumbers and tomatoes. They are also served for the main course with meat, hummus and salads. It is almost similar to Pizza. But I gave a twist to the original recipe and made it with whole wheat flour and topped with some Idli podi (gun powder) and cheese - a la Indian style. It is very easy to make and they go well as snacks with hummus. Bethica Das -
Manakish Manakish
After a Persian cuisine craze last year, I am still craving for more Middle Eastern cuisines. I had fallen in love with the ingredients they used just as much as how I missed having a wonderful aroma in my kitchen. The thought of making this flatbread came when I wanna make use of my leftover sumac. "Instead of buying a ready-made za'atar, why not use my sumac to make my own, and why do I need za'atar? Yes! Manakish!" I was talking to myself in monologue. Lol!Bread is our 1st food. Until to this day, we are still eating bread, especially flatbread, in all shapes and forms all across the globe. It is fascinating! Munching down a flatbread, we can taste different kinds of ingredients from different countries and cultures. Especially the wonderful aroma that's coming out of the oven. I feel like I am walking down the streets of a Middle Eastern country.I serve my manakish with a simple salad on the side. I couldn't find any fresh cucumber and mint in my local grocery store, so I replace them with shredded carrot and finely chopped coriander, respectively. I wanna keep this 100% vegan. I used a vegan feta cheese, which is a tofu-based cheese and sprinkled all over my manakish. This is a fairly easy dish to make and I hope you will give this recipe a try and have your kitchen filled with an amazing aroma. Daniel Lim -
Mackerel Takikomi Gohan Mackerel Takikomi Gohan
Mackerel rice is a nutritious yet easy-to-make dish, perfect for busy days. You only need to add the ingredients to the rice cooker, and it's ready with just a 5-minute prep time. Using canned mackerel eliminates the need for dealing with bones, while still providing a good source of DHA, EPA, and protein. Mixing the fish into the rice makes it less smelly, so even kids who aren't fond of fish can enjoy it. Topping it with green onions and sesame seeds adds extra flavor and visual appeal! #japanesefood #CA2025 Yuki Ohtani -

You don't have to be the Aadams Family to enjoy this take on a simple classic casserole dish. Noodles, meat, sauce, veg and cheese....yum!This recipe makes enough to be able to share it with all of your zombie neighbors. You can even set up another pan to freeze and bake at a later time.I always use corn for the veg inside, but you can add your favorites or change it up each time.I hope you enjoy it throughout the year and not just during witching weeks. :) 🍀Shamrock 🍀 -
