As I have been doing every year I’m adding this to my original get ahead for Christmas recipe range! This will also be on my cook along tomorrow on BBC Radio Derby! For the next 4 weeks we will be getting super organised for Christmas!

Sprouts ! (Emilys Get ahead for Christmas)

Ingredients

15 mins
4 as a side dish
  1. 300 gramsmini sprouts or normal sprouts cut in half
  2. 1/2ring of chorizo or 100 grams of bacon lardons
  3. 2 tbspolive oil
  4. Knobbutter
  5. Few sprigs of thyme
  6. Salt and pepper

Cooking Instructions

15 mins
  1. 1

    In a frying pan drizzle in the oil and heat to a medium high heat!

  2. 2

    Meanwhile chop the chorizo into fine quarters.

  3. 3

    Throw them in the hot frying pan let the sizzle and release the oils!

  4. 4

    After a few minutes when crispy throw in the sprouts! Then add a knob of butter!

  5. 5

    Add salt and pepper and thyme ! When they are firm but a bit squishy lift off the heat! Serve or transfer to a dish for freezing!
