Ingredients

  • 30Brussels sprout
  • For batter:
  • 1/2 cupplain flour
  • 2 tablespooncorn flour
  • 1/2 cupwarm milk
  • 1 tablespoonvinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoongarlic powder
  • 1 teaspoonchilli flakes
  • Bread crumbs
  • For sauce:
  • 2 tablespoonbutter
  • 1/4 cupfinely chopped fresh garlic
  • 3/4 cupchilli sauce (sriracha, sweet chilli garlic and tomato ketchup)
  • 1 tablespoonsugar
  • 1 tablespoonlemon juice
  • 1/2 cupfinely chopped coriander leaves

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the Brussels sprouts and pat dry.
    In a bowl add plain flour, corn flour, salt, chilli powder and garlic powder. Mix and set aside.

    In another bowl add milk and vinegar and mix together. Slowly add the milk to flour mix and make batter.
    In a plate add bread crumbs.
    Dip one Brussels sprouts at a time in batter and roll in bread crumbs. Place them on a lined baking tray.

    In a pan add butter and garlic and sauté until garlic is lightly golden. Add in chilli sauce, sugar and lemon juice. Stir continuously until all incorporated. Add coriander leaves and add in the sprouts and mix well until all coated with the sauce.

    Transfer in a serving dish and garnish with some coriander.
    Enjoy the festive season with this tasty dish.

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
