Steps

Soak daal for 2 to 3 hours and cook it in pressure cooker till soft.

Heat oil in a wok, add clove, pepper, cinnamon, Hing. Let it splutter. Now add ginger garlic green chillies paste. Cook for sometime. Now add onions add cook till you get proper colour of onions

Now add tomatoes and salt. Cook till they are soft and mushy. Now add chilli powder, turmeric powder, dhanya jeera powder and cover and let the masalas cook with onions and tomatoes.

Now add cooked daal, and let it cook for 5 minutes on slow flame. Stir occasionally. Adjust the consistency by adding water.

Mash some daal with the back of the spatula. Now add ghee, kasuri methi and cook for further 10 minutes on slow flame stirring occasionally.

Daal Makhani is ready to serve with rice/ chapati/ paratha
