Rinse the yellow split peas and soften in cold water overnight.

Add the bay leaves and boil the splitpeas in water for 1 hour or until soft.

Prepare the base for thickening and flavour by finely chopping the onion and frying in oil and flower to form a paste.

After 1 hour, blend the yellow split peas with the base, marjoram, salt, pepper and butter.

Serve the pudding with sausages or other meats, and side salads as preferred!
