It’s a great breakfast staple, there’s no harm in packing it as a meal for your child’s school lunch.

Wash and soak barnyard millet for atleast 4-5 hours. Drain water and keep aside.

In a deep bottom pan, heat ghee. Roast dryfruits of your choice. Remove and keep aside.

In the same pan roast the soaked barnyard millet for 2-3 minutes on a low flame. Now add 1 cup of hot water.

When the water starts boiling add the milk and cook.

Keep stirring and occasionally until the milk is thick and the millet is cooked. Adjust consistency of milk if required..

Add jaggery powder and cardamom powder. Mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.

Serve it in a serving bowl with the roasted dryfruits and garnish with some dry rose petals.

Serve it hot or cold. Well I prefer it warm.
