Ingredients

  1. 400 gfirm tofu
  2. 4 tablespoonsdouban sauce
  3. 150 goyster mushrooms
  4. 50 gold garlic
  5. 10 tablespoonscooking oil
  6. 200 mlwater
  7. 1 teaspoonwhite pepper powder

Cooking Instructions

    Peel and chop garlic finely.

    Rinse oyster mushrooms with clean water. Tear into thin strips by hand.

    Rinse the firm tofu with clean water. Cut into thick slices. Put onto kitchen tissue to absorb the moisture.

    Heat up frying pan with medium heat. Add sufficient cooking oil, about 6 tablespoons. Fry the tofu until golden, then remove from the oil and put aside. Dispose the frying oil carefully. Do not reused the oil for health reasons.

    Heat up the clean frying pan with medium heat. Add 4 tablespoons new cooking oil. Stir fry garlic till aromatic. Add 4 tablespoons of douban sauce, 1 teaspoon of white pepper powder, 200ml water. Mix evenly till slightly boiling.

    Add the braised tofu and the oyster mushrooms into the boiling douban sauce. Stir evenly. Then simmer at low heat to thicken the sauce. Ready to serve.
