Fried Momos

Crisp and perfectly crunchy Fried Momos are my family's favourite on any given day. These little goodies are a lovely variation to everyday routine cooking. Therefore these are made by me every Month for them to enjoy. You can use any filling of your choice. Veg and Non-Veg both are awesome in their own way. Paneer Momos are the perfect. Tandoori, Fried or Baked one's are also a huge favourite of many. Chicken or Mutton Mince are also used as a filling generally in the Non-Veg variety. And since these are fried one's, I have used boneless Chicken mini cubes. But it's still your choice. You can do according to your preference. I have made different shapes for an appealing look.
I gave them the shape of a Doughnut and a Triangle just for a change. They looked wonderful after frying and my kids loved it, especially the shapes.
As it is, Momos are their favourite and they thoroughly enjoyed these beautiful looking different Momos.

Steps
- 1
Make a smooth yet a little firm dough with all the ingredients mentioned. Cover and keep aside for 15 minutes. Meanwhile heat Oil in a pan. Add ginger garlic paste and finely chopped Onions. After it gets a little bit translucent and the raw smell vanishes, stir in all the spices including the Chicken and the shredded Cabbage along with the Carrots. Saute until everything gets cooked well for about 15 minutes on a low heat. Don't forget to put a lid on.
- 2
Now comes the most interesting part of making the Momos first and then frying. Divide the dough into equal sized balls that should be smaller in size. Roll out a thin disc. Place about 1-2 tablespoon of the Chicken filling. Shape into your favourite Momos. Now instead of steaming, these are to be fried.
- 3
Deep fry them in hot Oil on a low heat in batches of one to two. Serve with spicy Momos Chutney. Enjoy!
