Kesar Thandai

Thand’ in Hindi means cold, and therefore thandai refers to ‘a refreshing drink that has a cooling effect.’
Thandai is an Indian cold drink prepared with a mixture of almonds, fennel seeds, watermelon seeds,rose petals, pepper, poppy seeds, cardamom, saffron, milk and sugar. It is most commonly consumed in north India. I have made Kesar Thandai for Holi for my loved ones and shred my receipe with my extended cookpad family.

Take out all the dry ingredients in plate and grind them in mixer. Put saffron strands in 2 tablespoon of warm milk and keep aside.

Take a pot. Add milk and put it to boil. Add sugar in it and stir. Now put the masala in it and bring it to boil. Add saffron milk too. Switch off the gas and cool completely. Keep it in refrigerator for some time if you need.

Garnish with rose petals and Serve thanda thanda Thandai to your loved ones during Holi
