Gather all the ingredients. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, yogurt, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and 1 tablespoon garlic paste to make a soft dough. Add water if needed. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle. Knead the dough with oil until smooth, then divide into large balls. Take one ball, roll it out into an oval shape, and brush one side with water. Place the naan, water side down, onto the hot skillet so it sticks.

Mix 1 tablespoon garlic paste with chopped cilantro. When bubbles start to form on the naan, flip the skillet over the flame to cook the top side directly over the heat.

Brush the hot naan with the garlic-cilantro mixture and ghee. Serve hot.
