  1. 1 bagtortilla chips
  2. Shredded or sliced melting cheese (I used both)
  3. 1/2large onion
  4. 1/2green bell pepper
  5. 1/2orange bell pepper
  6. 12 ozground beef (about 350 grams)
  7. 1small can crushed tomatoes
  8. Juice of 1/2 small lemon
  9. Spices
  10. Garlic powder
  11. Cumin
  12. Basil
  13. Parsley
  14. Oregano
  15. Curry powder
  16. Chicken seasoning

    Place the tortilla chips in a glass baking dish and sprinkle half of the cheese on top. Bake in the oven for 5 minutes on the top rack only.

    Meanwhile, cook the ground beef in a skillet with the spices, 1/4 of the onion, and the crushed tomatoes. (Add a little sugar to reduce the acidity of the tomatoes.)

    Remove the dish from the oven, add the cooked meat and the rest of the cheese on top, and return to the oven for another 5 minutes.

    While it's in the oven, chop the bell peppers and mix them with the remaining onion and the lemon juice.

    When you take the dish out of the oven, top with the pepper mixture and it's ready to serve.
