Unni Appam
My own cooking. #SC3
Steps
- 1
In a large vessel, take water about 1 litre.
- 2
Next, add sugar and melted jaggery.
- 3
Add the ripe banana paste.
- 4
Mix well. Next add the fried coconut slices.
- 5
Add salt and leave this mixture aside for resting.
- 6
If you would like to add yeast, you can omit bananas.
- 7
After resting the mixture for an hour, you can start frying the Unni Appams in cooking oil.
- 8
In a frying pan, with round pits the round shape of the Unni Appams will be obtained.
- 9
Make sure it is deep fried in oil, enough to sink the Unni Appams.
- 10
Fry each one till golden brown.
- 11
Since this is a festival sweet in Kerala, it's always made for important festivals. Make sure you serve it to guests, warm.
- 12
It can be stored in air tight containers for a month.
- 13
Happy cooking.
