Ingredients

30 minutes
4 servings
  1. 4 sliceswhite bread,
  2. 2 cupmilk,
  3. 1.5 cupsugar,
  4. 1/2 tspelaichi powder,
  5. as required Ghee for frying,
  6. 1/2 ltrFor Rabri... full cream milk,
  7. 3 tbsp condensed milk,
  8. 2 tbsp milk powder,
  9. 3 strandssaffron,
  10. 2-3 dropsgulab jal,

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Firstly trim the sides of the bread slices, cut them diagonally, keep aside.

  2. 2

    For Chashni....a). Take a pan, add milk & sugar, mix it well. Add saffron & elaichi powder, mix it well. Cook it until thick. Turn off the flame. Keep aside.

    Now take a wok, add good amount of ghee, heat it.

  4. 4

    Moderate the flame, deep fry the slices until light brown, keep aside.

  5. 5

    Dip the fried slices into the chashni one by one, put it on low flame, for a min. Take out in a dish, keep aside.

    For Rabri....a). Take a pan, add milk, boil it.

  7. 7

    B). Lower the flame, add condensed milk, mix it well.

  8. 8

    C). Now add milk powder slowly slowly, keep stirring, cook it until a lil thick. Add gulab jal, give a stir. Turn off the flame.

    Spread rabri onto the slices, also sprinkle chopped nuts & elaichi powder.

    Serve it chilled..

    A delicious festive dessert..
