Spicy Tandoori Chicken Without a Tandoor

Make a few slits in the chicken pieces. In a bowl, combine all the spices except the butter and mix well to form a thick paste.

Coat the chicken pieces thoroughly with the spice paste. Let the chicken marinate for a while. If you have time, refrigerate it. After 10-15 minutes, take out the chicken pieces.

Heat oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add 4-5 chicken pieces at a time and lightly fry them.

Flip the chicken with tongs and fry well. Then cover and cook for 3-4 minutes to make the chicken tender. Remove the pieces to a plate.

Place a wire rack over the stove and grill the chicken pieces on medium flame for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally. Brush the chicken with butter and grill for another 1-2 minutes.

Serve the grilled chicken hot with salad and green chutney.
