Visited Ranchi, Bihar years ago when my brother was working for Hindustan Steel company. His neighbor was a Bihari. I tasted a few traditional Bihari dishes. Biharis use more turmeric powder and mustard while making paste unlike South Indians. I had been to the farmers market In Ranchi. . This is a simple spicy recipe with beans and potatoes

Cut beans into small pieces. I cut the potato into small cubes and cooked them in microwave for 3 minutes. This makes it easy to stir fry. You can directly add the veggies to hot oil in the kadai over medium low heat and stir fry. Heat 2tbsp oil in a kadai over medium heat; stir in mustard seeds; let it splutter; Add cumin, ajwan, asafetida, 1 minute. Add the veggies, continue cooking over medium heat with the kadai covered, stirring now and then. When the veggies get soft add the spice powders
