Ingredients

  • 11/2 cupplain flour
  • 1 tspbaking powder
  • 11/2 tspinstant yeast
  • 7-8 tbspsugar
  • 1-2 tbspoil
  • 1/2 tspfresh ground small cardamon powder
  • 1/2-1 cuplukewarm water 💦
  • Oil for deep frying

    In a bowl add plain flour, instant yeast, baking powder, oil, cardamom powder,oil mix well.

    Add lukewarm water and mix well, make a soft dough,add few drops of oil, cover and keep for 40 mins. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, divide the dough into 4 equal portions, roll out 1 portion of dough into a circle about 1/4 " thick, cut into 8 triangles, repeat with the remaining dough portions and keep aside.

    Heat oil in a wok, working in batches, fry the mandazi for 2-3 mins per side until golden brown, drain on kitchen napkin and serve as breakfast or as snack with hot coffee or tea.
