Moussaka is a Greek Cuisine . It is very delicious, spiced & sausy that you can’t say no to it ….
Moussaka is made of bottom layer of fried potatoes 🥔 , fried eggplant 🍆 , juicy minced in tomato 🍅 sauce and a top layer of bechamel sauce. This is then baked 😍
You can also make it with Zucchini and double the layes for fried veggies of your choice.

Steps

Peel potatoes 🥔 & cut as you like, in circles or length wise. Deep fry in hot oil. Drain excess oil.

Cut eggplant 🍆 in circle or lengthwise. If you like you can peel it or use with skin. Shallow fry in little oil until brown.

If you like you can use beef. I am making it with chicken minced. Take oil in a pan. Add bay leaf. Add cinnamon stick. Add chopped onion 🧅 Saute till translucent. Add ginger & garlic 🧄

Add chicken mince & cook.

Add salt, paprika powder, parsley, oregano, tomato puree & bread crumbs. Crumbs with make it thick.

Cover & cook on low flame.

For Béchamel Sauce. Take butter and oil in a pan. Add flour and cook on medium flame until flour gets nice sandy colour. Whisk continuously on low flame and add milk. Cook till it gets thick.

Seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika powder, red chilli flakes. Add beaten eggs.

Add cheese and cook till thick.

Preheat over before assembling.
Take a baking pan or dish. First lay fried potatoes 🥔 & press a bit with your hands to make them stick slightly together. - 11
Do the same with eggplant 🍆

Spread Prepared minced on top of eggplant 🍆

Spread béchamel cream evenly on top. At this stage you can add more cheese on top, if you like more cheesy.

Bake for about 30 minutes until the cream starts to look brownish and firm.

Let it stand for 30 minutes before serving.

Cut in equal squares & serve it.
