A pure and homemade easy peasy Tahini Paste for a worthwhile storage. This is an amazing addition to your pantry. It's a popular Condiment made by toasted hulled Sesame Seeds with some Olive Oil.
Sometimes it's kept raw and sometimes roasted. Both the ways it's absolutely amazing in terms of taste and texture. There is just one thing to remember in this that, not much of Olive Oil is used. For a cup of lightly toasted Sesame Seeds, 2 tablespoons of Oil has been used. That's it. As easy as that.
The best part is that it can be easily stored for a few Months if refrigerated.
And can be used in a variety of dishes. Right from Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Pita Breads, Kebabs, Halawa etc. Basically it's used as a Dressing in many Salads. And is a perfect flavouring agent. That's the beauty of this versatile one.
And last but not the least, it's rich in nutrients like Fibre, Protien, Copper, Selenium and Phosphorus. It reduces heart disease risk and inflammations in the body. It also has anti cancer properties too. All said and done, here is the beautiful Tahini Paste for you all.

Steps

5-8 minutes
  1. 1

Toast the Sesame Seeds lightly on a low heat. Take enough care while doing that as it takes not much time. Otherwise if they burn, the taste would be quite bitter. Therefore keep an eye on it.

  2. 2

After they cool down a bit, grind to a smooth paste using Olive oil. Don't forget to scrape the sides of the jar while grinding in between. That's it. Thick and creamy Tahini Paste is done.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
