Simple Rice Cooker Rice & Red Lentils Pilaf with Vegetable

Simple Rice Cooker Rice & Red Lentils Pilaf with Vegetable
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wash the rice in a large mixing bowl or the rice cooker pot directly. Lightly rinse and swirl rice, then drain the cloudy water from the rice 2 to 3 times with cold water to get rid of extra starch and any debris; the water won't have to be completely clear. Set-aside.
- 2
Rince and drain Red Lentils.
- 3
Chop Onion finely. Cut Carrot into small cubes.
- 4
Transfer the rice, Lentils, Onion and Carrots to the rice cooker pot; add Garlic powder, Italian herb mix and salt.
- 5
Pour Soup stock over the ingredeients.
- 6
Add Olive oil and stir roughly.
- 7
Set the pot in the cooker; close the lid and start cooking. Cooking time is 30 to 50 minutes, but it depends on your rice cooker. When the cooking process is done, let the rice sit in the cooker for about 5 minutes.
- 8
Open the lid; turn pilaf over and fluff it up, most of times the herbs and vegetables have risen to the top.
- 9
Serve in an individual bowl or transfer a large bowl for self-serving.
- 10
The pilaf is excellent for making tasty Omurice (Japanese Omelette Rice). Simply place an Omelette over the pilaf, serve with ketchup and ground black pepper.

I love corn.Granulated soup stock is convenient, but if using the block type, then 2 teaspoons of granulated stock is 1 block; please use this standard. Use a knife to cut in half vertically, horizontally, and height-wise (in 8 pieces) and it'll be easy to dissolve. Recipe by Pukuttopukumaru cookpad.japan -

Rice Cooker Shrimp Pilaf Rice Cooker Shrimp Pilaf
I've always bought frozen shrimp pilaf since I liked it so much, even if I had a lot of rice on hand. If you make your own pilaf it's a lot more economical.Use 1 stock cube for every 2 rice cooker cups of rice.If you stir fry the rice until it's translucent, the grains will stay separate when cooked. You can use fresh shrimp instead of frozen.I've salted this lightly, so if you want it to be saltier add 1 teaspoon of salt. A really quick and easy side dish to accompany many meat entrées. I also like to add onion or other veg sometimes. Also, vegetable stock can be used in place of chicken stock/soy butter used to make this vegetarian or vegan friendly. concon657 -

Simple Rice Pilaf in the Microwave Simple Rice Pilaf in the Microwave
It was so hot and I didn't want to make anything, but I had to do dinner so I decided to just throw something together with what I had in the fridge.I made this recipe on the fly so there aren't really any tricks to it. I made this pilaf for my daughter so if you want it to taste lighter or stronger, please adjust the amount of soup stock you put in. If you're using fresh vegetables it's probably better to cook them for longer in the microwave, or cook them in a frying pan beforehand. Recipe by sneeuw cookpad.japan -
