Perfect Daliya or Puffed Chana Chikki is a indian sweet brittle made using jaggery (gud) and daliya. Roasted dalia are mixed with perfectly cooked gud and rolled in to flat chikki or brittles to make this wonderful sweet. Jaggery is known to give warmth and relieve throat problems associated with cold and hence chikki is made during winter months in India. You can enjoy chikki anytime of the day, be it in mornings or after lunch or dinner.

First of all, heat a pan and roast the rosted puff chana daal in it on slow gas flame for 1 to 2 minutes. Now take it out in a plate and keep it to cool.

Now heat ghee in the same pan, add chopped jaggery to it and melt it while stirring continuously with a spoon. When the jaggery starts bubbling and the jaggery color changes, take water in a bowl and add 3 to 4 drops of this jaggery base to it and see if the jaggery base breaks easily after cooling, then understand that the jaggery base is ready.

Now add baking soda to the base of this jaggery and mix it well. Immediately add the roasted dal and mix well and switch off the flame.

After that, add this mixture on a plastic sheet greased with ghee or oil and give it a square shape with your hands while it is still hot. Cut it immediately with a pizza cutter. Cool it and break it into pieces.

Now our crispy and yummy daliya chikki is ready to serve. Plate it as per your wish.
