Serves 4 servings
  1. 2.2 poundscarrots (about 1 kilogram)
  2. 3/4 cupsugar (about 150 grams)
  3. 1/2 cupheavy cream (about 120 milliliters)
  4. 1/2 teaspooncardamom powder
  5. 1/4 cupsliced cashews and almonds (about 30 grams)
  6. 2 tablespoonsghee (clarified butter, about 30 grams)

  1. 1

    Peel and grate the carrots. Heat the ghee in a large skillet or pan, add the grated carrots, and sauté well.

    Add the heavy cream and cook, stirring. Add the sugar, cardamom powder, and sliced cashews and almonds. Cook thoroughly, stirring often.

    Once well cooked and the mixture thickens, turn off the heat. Serve the halwa hot.
