Cook cashews in water for 5 minutes and grind to fine paste. Set aside.

Heat oil in a kadai.. add the whole spices and cumin(jeera)

After it splutters add the onion and saute till brown 90% cooked. Important step.

Add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell disappears.

Add the tomatoes and cook till mushy.

Next add the spice powder and saute till oil separates.

Add the peas with ½ cup water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes in low flp

After oil separates add the cashew paste and cook covered for 5 minutes.

Now add mushrooms, adjust the consistency adding very little water. Cover and cook 10 minutes.

Crush the kasturi methi between the palms and add to the curry. Finally add butter.

Serve hot with roti/chapathi/naan or any Indian bread.
