This Ghia raita / bottle gourd raita gives refreshment to my soul in summer. I love to make it 3 to 4 times in summer. Ingredients

30 minutes
3 people
  • Bottlegourd or 1 ghiya
  • 1 cupyogurt
  • 1/2 tea spoonsalt
  • 1/2 tea spooncumin seeds
  • 1-2green chillies (according to your taste)
  • 3garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoonschopped onion
  • 1/2 cupmilk (if required then add 1/2 cup more)
  • leavesSome chopped fresh coriander
  • 1green chilli chopped
  • Chaat masala (optional)
  • Black pepper powder for sprinkle

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Take a pot and add 2 glasses of water then add grated bottle gourd or Ghia and let it cook for 10 to 15 minutes until it becomes soft. Then use a strainer and drain out the water

  2. 2

    Now in a grinder add yogurt, cumin seeds, green chilli,salt and garlic cloves and make a smooth liquid paste.

  3. 3

    Now in a mixing bowl add boiled Ghia/ bottle gourd and pour yogurt on it. Now add milk instead of water and give it a good mix

  4. 4

    Then add chopped onion, fresh coriander leaves, green chillies chopped and mix it well then add some black pepper powder or add some chaat masala to enhance its flavour. Keep it in the fridge for 30 minutes and enjoy. Our most delicious Ghia raita is ready to serve
