Just learned this baked potato dish from my niece who lives in Western Europe. Tried making it again—quick and delicious!

Boil the potatoes, peel them, and slice into rounds. Arrange the potato slices on a plate. Cut the ham into small squares. Layer the ham and potatoes alternately, then add the chopped shallots. Finish with a layer of cheese on top.

Sprinkle a little salt and pepper, then bake at 275ºF (135ºC) for about 20 minutes. Serve with salad or sliced bread.
