Steps

Collect all the ingredients.

Cut the onions & green chillies. Take ghee in a pan & saute mustard seeds. Add asafoetida. Saute onions & green chillies till pink.

Add the veggies & saute for 1 minute. Add soaked proso millet & moong dal. Saute them also for a minute. Add hot water & cook for a minute.

Transfer the mixture in pressure cooker container. Cover with lid & take 5 whistles. Cool

When the pressure is released from the cooker, open the cooker & mix well. Serve Pongal with with plain curds or raita of your choice.

Note : Always soak proso millet at least for 1 hour before cooking it.
