Braised Flying Fish Roe in Clay Pot

Steps
- 1
Prepare all ingredients and clean them thoroughly. Rinse the flying fish roe in diluted salt water, then rinse again and drain well.
- 2
Heat a pot and add the cooking oil, minced shallots, and garlic. Sauté until fragrant, then turn off the heat. Add the remaining seasonings and mix well. Add the flying fish roe and marinate for 30 minutes to let the flavors absorb.
- 3
Turn the heat back on and add 1/2 cup water (about 100 ml) to the pot. Bring to a boil and skim off any foam if needed. Add chopped green onions and sliced red chili pepper. Simmer on low heat until only a little sauce remains. Transfer the braised roe to a plate and garnish with cilantro and sliced red chili pepper for a more attractive presentation.
