Really easy and quick to prepare, these delicious bruschetta are perfect to enjoy even while standing at a buffet. You can pair them with caramelized onions as I did, or with sautéed vegetables.

Really easy and quick to prepare, these delicious bruschetta are perfect to enjoy even while standing at a buffet. You can pair them with caramelized onions as I did, or with sautéed vegetables.

Remove the casing from the sausages and place the meat in a bowl. Add the well-drained fresh cheese, fennel seeds, and mix everything together with a fork.

Spread a generous layer of the mixture on the slices of bread and place the bruschetta on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 390°F (convection) for about 15 minutes or until golden. Serve hot.

Meanwhile, clean and cut the onions in half and then into slices that are not too thin. Soften them in a pan with a little oil, then add the brown sugar.

Stir and let caramelize for 5 minutes over medium heat. Adjust the salt and finally add the balsamic vinegar. Let it evaporate over high heat, then lower the heat and continue cooking with the lid on for another 20 minutes. If necessary, add a little water.
