I decided to make this when crab was on sale, and it turned out to be quite easy with a restaurant-like taste.
Steps

Squeeze the water out of the crab meat by hand. Finely chop the onion and soak it in water.

Mix all the ingredients well and shape into 2 or 4 flat round cakes. Heat oil in a pan, cover, and cook both sides over medium heat.

For the sauce, mix shrimp cocktail sauce with mayonnaise to taste and serve over the crab cakes.
