Rub the kunafa dough with the melted butter until fully coated.

Grease a cupcake pan with butter.

Place a little kunafa dough in each cup and press it down firmly with your hands, then fill the center with whole pistachios.

Cover the pistachios with another layer of kunafa dough, pressing down well.

Bake the kunafa until the edges turn golden, then broil the tops until golden brown.

Place another baking sheet on top of the cupcake pan and carefully invert it to release the kunafa cupcakes.

Pour simple syrup over the kunafa cupcakes and garnish with chopped pistachios.
