Homemade Strawberry Gummies

These are kind of a mix between gummies and fruit chews, but so much better for you with ingredients you control and these are so simple to make. I got my gummy bear molds on Amazon for pretty cheap, but this recipe is still completely doable without silicone molds (see step 5). It's fun to come up with different flavor combinations for homemade gummy snacks. You could also use 1 cup of 100% fruit juice instead of the strawberries. Just don't use pineapple or kiwi...they have enzymes that don't allow the gelatin to set properly. Recipe adapted from : Mind Over Munch @ YouTube

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsstrawberries, washed and leaves discarded
  2. 2-3 tbsp.honey
  3. 3 packetsKnox unflavored gelatin

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Just 3 simple ingredients to make yummy strawberry gummies.

  2. 2

This is just a picture of the molds I used, purchased from Amazon. If you don't have silicones molds though, that's fine! See step 5.

  3. 3

Start by throwing the strawberries into a food processor and blending until they turn into a liquid puree. You'll then want to strain out the seeds. You can use a fine mesh sieve or a nut milk bag to do this. You should end up with 1 cup strained puree.

  4. 4

Place your 1 cup puree in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the honey (start with 2 tbsp, then add more to taste of needed) and gelatin until smooth and the mixture begins to simmer. Then remove from heat.

  5. 5

Now, it's time to fill the silicone molds. If you don't have silicone molds, you can pour the gummy mix onto a small baking tray that's been lightly sprayed with non-stick spray. Place the baking tray in the fridge for at least 1 hour for it to set and then either cut into small cubes or use a small cookie cutter for fun shapes.

  6. 6

If you do have the silicone molds, place them onto a baking tray so they can be moved easily. Use a dropper or a small spoon to fill each cavity with the gummy mixture until it's all used up.

  7. 7

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour for them to set, then just pop them out of the molds.

  8. 8

That's it! Enjoy! Store them in the fridge.

I love to bake and to try out new recipes! I'm always on the lookout for simple dinners for busy weeknights. A lot of the recipes I post on here are ones I've found on Pinterest or from different bloggers, and that I've tried and really enjoyed, but I always reference to where I got the recipe from in the recipe description and the pictures are my own. If there's no source listed, then it's a rare recipe that I came up with. I have two wonderful kids and I hope to pass on my love of cooking and baking to them.
