You can use the thick peels of daikon that you slice off in delicious kinpira. You drizzle with soy sauce at the end for the finishing touch, so I've added it sparingly at the beginning. We've been making this recipe in our home for a long time. I added vinegar to make it a good recipe for summer.Parboiling the daikon radish (for 5-6 minutes in the microwave) before cooking it in the pan helps it absorb the flavors. Adjust the amount of vinegar to taste. You can add green onions, if you want. Make sure to stir while it's simmering. You could also make this without the vinegar and it will still be delicious. Red braised pork Red braised pork
Red braised pork is a very common dish in China. Every region has their own flavor profile, and there is no definitive way of making this dish. The goal is to make the pork belly tender enough that you can cut it with chopsticks, and of course it needs to be red. This is the flavor I liked, and I use oyster sauce and fish sauce which is not traditionally in this dish. Sweet and Spicy Braised Pork Belly with Daikon Radish Sweet and Spicy Braised Pork Belly with Daikon Radish
Braised pork belly and daikon radish has been always one of the side dishes I make, but I added some changes to the recipe a friend's mum showed me. I made it more substantial using my usual ingredients. The daikon absorbs the flavour as it is cooled down. It tastes better when left to stand for a while than eaten straight away. It is nice if you cook boiled eggs together with it. If you heat the daikon for 2 to 3 minutes in a microwave beforehand you can cook the dish quickly. Recipe by Nokosandon cookpad.japan -
