Whole Black Gram Vada (Thirumala Thirupati Prasad)

This vadas are made with black urad dal, and some spices. The colour is not appealing but tastewise excellent. The taste of this vada is even more tastier when it served with coconut chutney.

This vadas are made with black urad dal, and some spices. The colour is not appealing but tastewise excellent. The taste of this vada is even more tastier when it served with coconut chutney.
Steps

Wash and soak the black urad dal for eight hours or overnight

After 8 to 10 hours the urad dal is well soaked. Drain the water

Grind the soaked urad dal into coarse paste. Do not grind into fine paste

Add the pepper, cumin, hing and salt in a mixer jar
- 5
Grind it into coarse powder

Transfer the ground urad dal and the ground spice powder into a wide bowl. Mix well with hands

Take a clean white wet cloth or a polythene paper and if make vada in polythene paper apply little oil and take small ball size dough and place it in the cloth or paper. Apply oil in hands and press evenly to make vada

Make the vada not thin or thick. Make all the vadas

Drop the vada slowly in hot oil. One time drop one vada. Do not add more. After three minutes flip it. Fry it in medium low flame.

Fry it both sides into crispy
